Applications are invited from candidates who have
passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent Examination for admission
to the 1st semester of the six semester B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com. (Honours/ General)
Course of Studies under CBCS system for the session 2020-21 to any of the three shifts of Seth
Anandram Jaipuria College under University of Calcutta provided he/she fulfills the conditions as
laid down in the latest “Admission and Examination Regulations” of University
of Calcutta [University Notification No. CSR/03/18 dated 07.5.2018 for
B.A./B.Sc./B.Mus. (Honours/General), CSR/26/17 dated 26.5.2017, CSR/64/17 dated
14.9.2017 & CSR/10/18 dated 30.5.2018 for B.Com. (Honours/ General)], and
in accordance with the notification bearing no. 434-Edn.(CS)/10M-95/14 dt.
16.07.2020, issued by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal
and notification bearing no. CUS/52(Cir.)/20 dated 24/07/2020 issued by the
University of Calcutta.
Ø The online application for admission
will start, tentatively from 10/08/2020 (12 noon) through the online admission
portal of the college (www.sajaipuriacollege.ac.in) for two different stream-groups
(B.A./B.Sc. and B.Com.) separately.
Ø Only girl students can apply for
morning shift and only boy students can apply for evening shift, whereas both
can apply for day shift (co-education).
Ø Eligible students seeking admission
can apply ONLINE by paying Rs. 150/- per course of a shift. Candidates are
allowed to apply for more than one stream/subject/shift with single
registration/login within the same stream-group. For different stream-group
(“B.A./B.Sc.” and “B.Com.”) one has to register separately. Application fees
are non-refundable.
Ø Application and admission fees can
be paid through e-payments only.
Ø Scanned copy of all the testimonials
are required to be uploaded online during application. Verification of
documents shall be done after commencement of classes. Admission is liable to
be cancelled if the documents are found not in conformity with the online
application data and declaration.
Ø The admission will be offered to
prospective applicants strictly on the basis of merit. To check merit list,
applicants must visit admission website regularly. Prospective applicants
eligible for admission shall also be informed via sms/email.
Ø Prospective applicants will NOT be
called for any physical counselling or physical verification of documents
during the process of admission. No physical presence is required at the college
premises before commencement of classes.
Ø Adoption of any unfair
means including submission of incorrect data/information during the
application and/or admission process or submission of false/forged
documents (mark sheets /certificates etc.) will attract severe punishments
including cancellation of candidature and legal action, if required.

Rules
& Regulations:
·
The applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its
equivalent Examination from a recognized board/council of examination and also
passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. Only
successful candidates who have appeared in their 10+2 Exams in 2020, 2019,
2018, 2017, 2016 & 2015 are allowed to apply.
· Marks in ‘Compulsory Environmental Education’ and
‘Environmental Studies’ will not be counted as any of the ‘Best Four’ for determining
the ‘aggregate’. The only exception will be ‘Environment Science’ if studied as
an elective subject of full marks of 100.
·
Only girl students can apply for morning shift and
only boy students can apply for evening shift, whereas both can apply for day
shift (co-education).
· In addition to meeting the eligibility criteria in
the specific subjects, where applicable, the candidate must secure the pass
mark, according to the respective Board/Council, in the rest of the subjects (separately
in theory and practical, where applicable). Otherwise the candidature will be
cancelled during onsite verification.
·
Applicants from Vocational Courses are eligible to
apply for B.A. (General) course only.
· The
applicant (other than SC/ST) must satisfy the eligibility criteria as published
in the Admission Portal. Applicants belonging to Reserved Categories(SC/ST) and
satisfying the reservation policy must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in
the aggregate and 40% marks in the subject/related subjects at the previous qualifying
examination, as the case may be.
·
For admission to different courses, an SC/ST
candidate getting admission should have obtained qualifying marks (in the
previous examination) not lower by more than 25% of the marks obtained by the
last candidate of the Unreserved category. In case of OBC-A/OBC-B category, the
candidates getting admission should have obtained qualifying marks (in the
previous examination) not lower by more than 10% from the marks obtained by the
last candidate of the Unreserved category.
· Initially the admission will be for Core Courses
(Honours Programme)/General Programmes only. Preferences of the Generic
Elective subjects and the compulsory AECC1/LCC2 has to be filled up in
application form. Actual allotment of Generic Electives and AECC/LCC2 will be
done after completion of admission subject to merit rank of the applicant and
seat availability.
·
Seats in the following Generic Elective subjects
are limited and will be offered / allowed strictly according to merit basis: Education,
Psychology, Geography, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science and
Journalism.
· Elective English will be offered to applicants who
have scored a minimum of 50% marks in English at the 10+2 level.
· In the day shift, only female applicants will be
allowed to opt for Psychology and Education as Generic Elective Subjects. All
classes in these generic subjects will be held in the morning shift only.
·
Migration certificate required for Boards other
than CBSC, ISC, WBCHSE and WBBME.
·
The applicant must follow the anti-ragging measures
as directed by the Education Department of Govt. of West Bengal.
·
Application Fee: Rs. 200/- for each Courses
(Hons/General). However for this year, considering
economic meltdown under COVID-19, Applications
fee has been reduced to Rs. 150 only, to be paid through online mode.
· Candidates are allowed to apply for more than one
stream/subject/shift with single registration/login within same stream-group
only (B.A./B.Sc. and B.Com.)
·
Admission fees are subject to change.
· All applicants must fulfill the conditions as laid down in the latest “Admission and Examination Regulations” of University of Calcutta and Regulations of Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal.

marks, exactly as printed on the mark sheet.
