Welcome to Seth Anandram Jaipuria College, an institution that has been serving society and the nation since its inception in 1945. Founded by Sri Mangturam Jaipuria in memory of his illustrious father and inaugurated by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, our college has been a torchbearer of quality education at an affordable cost.

Housed in the famous Sovabazar Rajbari, a landmark in the cultural history of Kolkata, we offer both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce streams across three shifts — Morning, Day, and Evening. Our commitment to inclusive education ensures that quality learning remains accessible to all sections of society.

About Our College

A Legacy of Academic Excellence

Seth Anandram Jaipuria College, a government-aided institution affiliated with the University of Calcutta, was established in the pre-independence era by Padmabhushan Seth Mangturamji Jaipuria. His father, Seth Anandram Jaipuria, hailed from Jaipur, Rajasthan. The college was inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on 22nd December 1945. Each year, the Foundation Day is commemorated with an Annual Seth Anandram Jaipuria Memorial Lecture featuring esteemed speakers from various fields.

Initially a Trustee college, the institution transitioned to a democratic Governing Body in 2022 under the directives of the State Government. The Governing Body comprises the President (MP Sri Sudip Bandyopadhyay), the Principal, teacher and non-teaching representatives, educationists from other city colleges, and a government official from the Department of Higher Education.
